Fellowships

African Women in Agricultural Research and Development - The African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) program offers specially tailored 2-year career development fellowships availabl at the post-bachelors, post-masters and post-PhD levels.  Women from qualifying countries (Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia) and conducting research in the following disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply:  crop sciences, horticulture, soil sciences, animal and livestock science, plant and animal virology, agroforestry, agricultural economics, aquatic resources and fisheries, food sciences Deadline: July 18, 2008

HED announces higher education partnership project in Egypt - Higher Education and Development (HED) announces a competition for a major award of up to $1.5 million with funding provided from USAID/Egypt.  The two-year higher education partnership with the Alexandria University Faculty of Commerce in Egypt aims to strengthen its Executive Masters in Business Administration program for working professionals. Norman E. Borlaug Leadership Enhancement in Agriculutre Program - The Norman E. Borlaug Leadership Enhancement in Agriculture Program helps to enhance the mentoring experience of a graduate student by generating a productive environment to produce their thesis.  The next deadline will assist a student by placing them in a mentoring system with a member of the CGIAR staff. Deadline: October 31, 2008

University of Ngozi capacity building project - The HED is offering one $450,000 award to strengthen the capacity of the University of Ngozi, Burundi, for teaching, applied research, and agricultural extension.  more information is available at http://www.hedprogram.org. Deadline: July 28, 2008
