Global Preeminence and Local Relevance
Our strategic intent captured in this phrase frames our college's goals to prepare globally competitive students, conduct first class discovery research, and be the preferred source of knowledge for making collective decisions and transforming lives.
ACES Global Connect is a means that will help achieve this goal. By serving as the conduit to conduct activities in the college with a global context, ACES Global Connect strives to enhance the college's mission to attain global preeminence in agricultural, consumer and environmental fields.
Ultimately, ACES Global Connect seeks to serve as a platform for global thinking in the college of ACES in food, health and environmental communities, and seeks global recognition for its activities. To quote from our strategic intent statement:
ACES scholarship will set the intellectual agenda of influential organizations and at forums that address crucial global issues for agriculture, consumers and the environment. Global knowledge should be an integral component of the programs of study for all of our students. Our faculty, students, and staff will weave global experiences and perspectives into their programs as a natural course of action. ACES students, graduates, and clients will be extraordinarily well prepared to thrive in an increasingly global arena.
Individual researchers collaborate in more than 120 countries around the globe in their specific areas of study with researchers at universities and institutions. These are funded through multiple mechanisms, including private grants, federal funds, industry, international business or government, and many other means.
